Lay out all the necessary ingredients on the table, measuring them out beforehand. Prepare the cheesecloth and bottle, as well as an enamel pot. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
Place the apples on a baking sheet and put them in a preheated oven for 10 minutes to achieve a rich, appealing color. Pour water into a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Then, add the apples to the boiling water and let them steep, covered, for 3 hours.
Carefully remove the apples from the pot. Add the sugar and stir thoroughly until it completely dissolves. Sprinkle in the yeast and let the mixture sit for another 3 hours, leaving the pot uncovered. Afterward, strain the kvass through cheesecloth and pour it into a bottle.
Pour the chilled kvass into a tall glass. If desired, garnish the drink with fresh berries and fruits to enhance its appeal and flavor.
