Compote from cornel for the winter - a truly magical drink. It has a lot of vitamin C, which will help you fight colds and strengthen the body. There are two main ways of preparing compote: in one we will have to sterilize the jars together with the liquid, and in the second we will use the method of double pouring. We want to offer you the second, in our opinion a simpler option. Berries are poured with boiling water, then this broth is drained and boiled again. Then pour a second time and close the jars. For the preparation, choose whole, but not overripe fruits. Too soft will burst from the action of boiling water. We will cook the compote with pips: it is healthier, and to separate it from the pulp is extremely difficult. If desired, you can add other fruits and berries to dogwood. This will only make the flavor of the drink better.

Sort the berries, remove debris, twigs and throw away spoiled fruits. Place the dogwood in a sieve and rinse well with cool running water. Dry on a kitchen towel.
Thoroughly wash 2 three-liter jars with soap or soda, and then sterilize them in any way convenient for you: in the microwave or by steaming.
Divide the berries approximately evenly among the jars. Pour filtered water into a saucepan and boil. Then distribute into prepared jars and cover them with lids. Leave to infuse for 20 minutes.
Using the lid with holes, drain the water back into the pan. Add sugar and boil. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Pour 35 ml of lemon juice into each jar of dogwood. You can squeeze it out of lemon, or use store-bought concentrated juice. Carefully pour the prepared syrup from the pan into the jars so that it reaches the โhangersโ and seal with sterilized lids.
Turn the jars upside down, wrap them in a blanket or blanket and leave them until they cool completely. Then store the compote in a cool, dark place for no more than a year.
