Rice in tomato sauce is the perfect side dish, complementing both meat and fish dishes beautifully. Its preparation won't take much time or special effort. In this recipe, we use hot chili pepper, garlic, and ginger to give the dish a piquant flavor. If you prefer milder notes, feel free to experiment with other spices such as turmeric, Italian or Provencal herbs, rosemary, or coriander. For maximum aroma and flavor release from the spices, lightly toast them in hot vegetable oil before adding them to the sauce. This will make your tomato sauce even richer and more appetizing!

Prepare all ingredients: thoroughly rinse the rice under running water, peel the garlic, and wash the green onions. Get ready the saucepan in which you will cook the dish.
Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan. Press the garlic through a press and fry it for about half a minute until fragrant. Then add ground ginger and chili pepper, heat for another 30 seconds to allow the spices to release their flavor.
Add the tomato paste to the saucepan with the spices, mix well, and heat over medium heat for 3 minutes. Then, add the rinsed rice, season with salt, and stir thoroughly to ensure the rice is evenly coated with the tomato sauce.
Pour water into the saucepan with the rice and sauce, and stir again. Cover the saucepan and simmer for 15 minutes after boiling, until the rice has absorbed all the liquid and is tender.
Serve the fragrant rice in tomato sauce, garnishing each portion with fresh, chopped green onions for added freshness and flavor.
