Start by preparing the cabbage: shred it finely so it can better absorb the marinade.
Next, blanch the shredded cabbage in boiling water for 2 minutes to soften it.
Choose ripe and firm plums. Make a small incision along one side of each plum; this will help them absorb the marinade better.
