Sweet French toast doesn't necessarily have to be fried using a milk-and-egg mixture. They turn out just as delicious without any milk at all. A single egg won't be enough to soak the bread slices, so you should add water to it. The resulting egg-based sugar syrup will create an appetizing glaze on the loaf slices after frying.

Crack an egg into a bowl and stir it with a fork. Pour in the water, add the sugar and vanilla sugar, and mix everything well. Dip the bread slices into the egg so that they are thoroughly soaked in the mixture.
Place the pan over medium-high heat, add the oil, and let it heat up. Put the slices into the pan and fry for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Flip the bread and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes.
