* Rinse the barley well. You may not soak. Now pearl barley is sold very quickly cooked. * Put salt, chili, ground black pepper, dry dill and parsley, paprika. *Pour in the broth. *Bring quickly to a boil, reduce the heat to a minimum and cook for 25 minutes under the lid. *After this time, add tomato paste, chopped onions, carrots and cucumbers. * Close the lid again and continue to cook until tender. It took me another 35 minutes.
