Buckwheat porridge with stewed meat in a slow cooker – a simple, affordable, and very delicious dish. It can be a quick dinner after a hard day at work when you don't feel like going to the store for groceries; an excellent lunch for a student who can load the ingredients into the slow cooker in the morning and eat after classes; and a nostalgic treat for the older generation. Cooking buckwheat with stewed meat according to our recipe is very easy, as the slow cooker will do all the main work for you. Perhaps the most challenging part is buying really high-quality canned meat that contains only meat, salt, pepper, bay leaf, and nothing unnecessary.

Transfer the stew to a deep plate and carefully skim off all the fat. Set aside the fat and divide the stew into medium-sized pieces using a fork and knife.
Rinse the buckwheat under running water and place in a sieve. Cut the onion into small cubes, grate the carrots on a medium grater, finely chop the garlic.
Turn on the multicooker in the “Frying” mode and melt the fat from the stew in it; if there is not enough of it, add vegetable oil. Add the onion to the bowl and saute it, stirring occasionally, for 3-4 minutes.
Add garlic to the onion in the slow cooker and, stirring, sauté for 1 minute. Add carrots to the bowl, stir and saute the vegetables for another 5-6 minutes.
Add stewed meat and buckwheat to the bowl of sautéed vegetables, add salt and pepper, and mix gently. Pour in 500 ml of boiling water, stir again, set the multicooker to the “Porridge” or “Grain” mode and cook until the end of the program. This usually takes 25-30 minutes. Serve with chopped herbs.
