Peel the pears, remove the core and chop finely.
Wash the plums, remove the pits and chop finely.
Add 50 ml of water to the plums and bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.
Add the pears to the plums and transfer the mixture to a large saucepan. Bring it to a vigorous boil, stirring constantly.
Add all the sugar. Bring back to a rolling boil and cook for 1 minute, continuing to stir.
Remove the jam from the stove and skim off the foam. Stir for 5 minutes, periodically skimming the jam to cool slightly.
Place the jam in dry, hot jars and close the lids.
