Chuck-chuck with vodka is one variation of the famous Tatar dessert. There's nothing particularly revolutionary about this recipe, except that a little bit of strong alcohol is added to the dough. Why do they do this? Some chefs claim that vodka contributes to the dough's elasticity, making it possible to roll it out very thin. Others say that this beverage gives the chuck-chuck a special "crunchiness." What's true and what's not can only be verified in one way: by preparing chuck-chuck according to our detailed recipe!

Prepare the chak-chak dough ingredients. Beat the eggs into a bowl. Add sugar and salt. Whisk to combine ingredients. Pour in vodka. Whisk again.
Sift the flour through a sieve into a separate bowl. Then add it in portions to the egg mixture. First knead the dough with a spatula, then with your hands. You may need a little more or less flour: use the consistency of the dough as a guide (it should be stiff).
Shape the chak-chak dough into a large ball. Wrap in cling film and leave at room temperature for 40 minutes. During this time, gluten will develop in the dough, and it will be easier to roll out.
Place the dough on a work surface dusted with flour. Roll out with a rolling pin into a layer no more than 3 mm thick. Cut into strips and then into thin short strips.
Heat refined vegetable oil in a thick-bottomed saucepan. Dip the prepared dough into it in portions and fry the chak-chak until golden brown.
Place the finished chak-chak on several layers of paper towels to absorb excess fat. Fry the remaining dough pieces in the same way.
Prepare syrup for chak-chak. Place honey in a saucepan with a thick bottom. Add sugar. Stirring, bring the syrup almost to a boil. The sugar should completely dissolve.
Collect the chak-chak. Place the fried dough in a large bowl. Pour in the hot honey syrup and stir gently. Transfer the warm mixture onto a large plate. Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
