Bake the strawberry jam croissants in a preheated oven at 180 ºC for 15-20 minutes, until they achieve an appetizing golden-brown color. Baking time and temperature may vary slightly depending on your oven's characteristics and the size of the croissants.
After baking, remove the finished croissants from the oven and let them cool slightly. If desired, sprinkle them with powdered sugar through a fine sieve; you can use special non-melting sugar. Now you can enjoy the fresh pastry! Be careful, hot jam can be very scalding.
To prepare delicious croissants with strawberry jam, begin by thawing the puff pastry. It's important that it doesn't completely melt and retains its shape, as this will significantly ease the process. Lightly flour a clean work surface and carefully lay out the pastry sheets.
Lightly roll out the dough, keeping it not too thin, to form rectangles. Then, cut these diagonally into several triangles. On the wider part of each triangle, place a spoonful of thick strawberry jam. The thickness of the jam is crucial for an ideal outcome.
Carefully roll each triangle into a spiral, shaping it into a croissant. Place the prepared croissants on a baking sheet, previously lined with silicone paper or a Teflon mat, ensuring there is enough space between them. Separately, whisk a chicken egg with a fork and brush it over the surface of the croissants using a pastry brush. Let the croissants rest for 15 minutes to allow the dough to relax and rise slightly.
