Thoroughly rinse the berries, removing all debris. Prepare a saucepan and a stainless steel pot, along with an immersion blender. Don't forget to sterilize the jar and lid to ensure your jam stores safely and for a long time.
Place the blackcurrants in a saucepan. Put it on the stove and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes over low heat, then use a blender to turn the berries into a smooth puree and extract maximum juice.
Transfer the blueberries to a stainless steel pot. Add the fragrant currant puree and 2.5 cups of brown sugar.
Set to medium heat. Stirring constantly, cook the berries for 20 minutes until they are well saturated with sugar and have thickened.
Next, incorporate the remaining sugar into the jam. Continue to cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the jam to reach its ideal consistency.
Remove the finished jam from the heat and immediately transfer it to a pre-sterilized jar. Seal tightly with a lid, invert the jar upside down, and wrap it in a blanket. Allow the jam to cool completely, then store it in a dark, cool place.
Prepare a delightful sweet sandwich for breakfast: spread toasted bread with creamy cheese, then generously top with a layer of fragrant blueberry-blackcurrant jam. Enjoy!
