Embark on a culinary adventure by preparing all your ingredients. Thoroughly rinse the chicken fillet and pat it dry with paper towels. Then, slice the fillet into thin pieces and lightly pound them, before cutting into small strips.
Peel the onion and garlic. Slice the onion into thin half-rings and finely chop the garlic. Transfer the chicken fillet to a bowl, season generously with salt and pepper, add the chopped garlic and fragrant Provence herbs. Let it marinate for 15 minutes to allow the meat to absorb all the flavors.
Peel the potatoes and rinse them thoroughly. Cut each tuber in half lengthwise, then slice them thinly crosswise. Prepare a baking dish, choosing an appropriate size.
Grate the hard cheese using a coarse grater. Arrange the ingredients in a baking dish in layers, alternating chicken fillet, onion, and potatoes. Lightly salt and pepper the cream, then pour it over the chicken and potatoes in the dish. Sprinkle everything with the grated cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 190°C for 40 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
