Sprinkle the rolled-out dough with sugar. Leaving a border of about 7-8 cm from the edge, evenly distribute the prepared berries. If the berries are very juicy, drain any excess liquid and sprinkle them with 2-3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs to absorb the extra moisture. Gently lift the free edges of the dough and fold them over the berries, forming a rim. Sprinkle the filling with additional sugar. Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 180 °C for 35–40 minutes, until golden brown. Before serving, allow the pie to cool for 20-30 minutes so it can set and its flavors can fully develop.
Begin by sifting the flour with the salt, then incorporate the sugar. Gently combine the dry ingredients with the vegetable oil. Mix swiftly until a uniform dough forms, being careful not to overwork it. Should the dough appear too stiff, add 2-3 tablespoons of ice water to achieve the desired consistency.
Form a neat ball from the dough. Wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the dough to rest and become more pliable.
Roll out the chilled dough into a thin sheet, 3-5 mm thick. Carefully transfer it to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Meanwhile, prepare the strawberries: cut each berry into 2-4 pieces, depending on its size. If you are using a berry mix, prepare them in a similar fashion.
