Prepare the flour by sifting it onto a cutting board or a flat dish. Clean and thoroughly wash the mushrooms, then slice them thinly. Dredge each slice in the flour, ensuring it evenly coats the mushrooms.

Pour the breadcrumbs into a deep bowl. In a mortar, crush the bay leaf, black pepper, and cloves until fine, then add them to the breadcrumbs. Place the mushrooms in the bowl with the breadcrumbs and mix thoroughly, ensuring the mushrooms are evenly coated with the breading on all sides.

Heat the vegetable oil in a pan. Fry the mushrooms for 2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Place the fried mushrooms on paper towels to remove excess oil.
