Preparing this delicious borscht is much simpler than it seems! The secret lies in choosing fresh, high-quality ingredients and precisely following the recipe. We suggest using tender chicken fillet to make the borscht less fatty, but you can experiment with any other meat if you wish. And if you want to add a twist, try supplementing the soup with beans. The main thing is to maintain balance so that each flavor harmoniously unfolds in this aromatic dish.

Gather all the necessary ingredients. Thoroughly wash and peel the vegetables, and rinse the chicken fillet under cold water. Preheat the water in advance. Prepare a cauldron or a large pot, a grater, and a frying pan.
Dice the potatoes into neat cubes and cut the chicken fillet into arbitrary pieces. Transfer these ingredients to a cauldron and pour hot water over them. Place on heat, add a bay leaf, and cook for 15 minutes.
Prepare a fragrant sauté: grate the carrots and beets, and finely chop the onion. Transfer the vegetables to a pan with heated oil and sauté for 4-5 minutes until tender. Then add the tomato paste and vinegar, mix thoroughly, and simmer for another 1 minute to allow the flavors to meld.
Shred the cabbage and add it to the cauldron along with the prepared sautéed vegetables. Season the dish with spices to taste and mix well. Simmer for another 5 minutes. Mince the garlic and add it to the borscht, stirring again. Remove the borscht from the heat and let it steep for 10 minutes to allow all the flavors to fully develop.
Cut the slices of black bread into sticks and fry them in a pan until golden brown. Ladle the aromatic borscht into bowls and serve hot with crispy croutons.
