Our strawberry cheesecake might be considered just a casserole by many since it lacks the base that is typical for this popular dessert. However, this misunderstanding can be easily forgiven and understood: it is compensated by the incredibly delicate texture of the treat and, of course, its exquisite taste. And if you strongly object to calling it a cheesecake, then call it a casserole, just keep in mind that it is something very special, unlike the traditional one. The recipe for the dish is not complicated, but you should pay attention to the quality of the ingredients. The cottage cheese should be natural and rich (ideally in layers), and the strawberries for the sauce should be seasonal, meaning sweet and aromatic. That way, the cheesecake will turn out so delicious that debates about what to call it will simply not arise.

Preheat the oven to 160°C. Prepare all cheesecake ingredients. Rub the cottage cheese through a fine metal sieve into a bowl so that it becomes as smooth as possible.
Add sour cream, room temperature eggs, 50 g of sugar and semolina to the cottage cheese. Blend with an immersion blender until you obtain a fluffy mass of homogeneous consistency. Add some cardamom and stir.
Grease a baking dish with a diameter of no more than 20 cm with 10 g of butter. You can sprinkle with flour. Place the resulting curd mass into the mold. Level it out.
Place the mold with the curd mass into a larger mold. Pour water into it so that it reaches approximately half the height of the container with the curd mass. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes. Let cool in the pan until warm.
Melt the remaining butter with the remaining sugar in a saucepan. Wash and peel the strawberries. Cut large berries into halves. Add strawberries to butter pan. Keep on medium heat for 3 minutes. Pour the resulting sauce over the warm cheesecake and serve.
