Pineapples in puff pastry are a very delicious dessert that will appeal to absolutely everyone from young to old. One of the main advantages of this dish is its simplicity of preparation. And the ingredients needed for it are quite accessible. Pineapples in syrup and frozen puff pastry are sold in almost any grocery store. What kind of pastry should you choose? You can use either yeast or yeast-free dough, it will be delicious in any case. As for the pineapple syrup, it definitely should not be poured out. It can be poured over ice cream or, for example, added to other ingredients when making sorbet.

Puff pastry without yeast - 250 g

Thaw the puff pastry. Remove the pineapples from the syrup and place in a sieve to drain excess liquid. Then pat each ring dry with a paper towel.
Roll out the dough evenly into a rectangle 2 mm thick. Use the rolling pin in one direction to prevent the layers of dough from moving. Cut the layer into 10 long strips 1.5 - 2 cm wide.
Wrap each strip of dough tightly around a pineapple ring so that there are gaps between the turns through which the fruit can be seen. If there is any excess dough left, simply cut it off.
Cover a baking sheet with parchment and arrange the pineapples so that there are at least 5 cm of space between them. Beat the egg with 1 tbsp. water until smooth and gently brush the dough with it, being careful not to get it on the cut edges.
If you are using brown sugar for the topping, add it before baking. But you need to sprinkle the finished dessert with powdered sugar before serving. Bake the pineapples in the dough in an oven preheated to 180°C for 20 minutes in the “top-bottom” mode without convection. Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
