Onion marinated with beet juice and cloves is a very aromatic and beautiful appetizer. What is especially nice is that you won't have to buy the more expensive red onion: regular onions acquire a bright color thanks to the beet juice. Such marinated onions can be added to salads with boiled meat, used to make sandwiches or open-faced sandwiches, garnish herring, or serve with kebabs.

Freshly squeezed beet juice - 100 ml
Lemon juice - 2 tbsp.
Sugar - 1 tbsp.
Salt - 1 tsp.
Cider vinegar - 1 tbsp.

Allspice - 2 pcs.

Peel the onion and cut into large rings. Place in a bowl.
Pour water into the ladle. Add sugar, salt and bring to a boil. Add cloves and allspice. Let cool slightly.
Pour beet juice into the cooled brine. Add lemon juice and vinegar and stir.
Pour the onion into a bowl. Cover with cling film and leave for 30 minutes.
