We propose preparing a simple, tasty, and hearty dish in the oven - stuffed mushrooms with chicken mince and cheese in breadcrumbs. This dish will appeal even to gourmets because oven-baked mushrooms have always been a very popular appetizer. The winning combination of ingredients, featuring tender mince and cheese hidden under a crispy breadcrumb coating, will delight and surprise your loved ones. An added bonus is that this dish is very easy and quick to prepare. In the recipe, we use mushrooms, but if you wish, you can choose other types of mushrooms. There's just one condition: their caps must be fillable. So, for example, oyster mushrooms and chanterelles won't work.

Step 1

If necessary, clean the champignons with a damp cloth. Remove the stems from the mushrooms (they will no longer be needed in this recipe, but they can be used to prepare other dishes: soups, stews, pates).

Cut the cheese into 12 approximately equal-sized cubes. Add salt and ground black pepper to the minced chicken, mix the minced meat with spices well. Divide the minced meat into 12 equal portions (about 25 g each).

Place a cube of cheese in each mushroom cap. Place a portion of minced chicken tightly but carefully on top of the cheese so that it covers the entire surface of the champignon.

Place flour in one bowl and breadcrumbs in another. In a third container, beat the eggs. Use a whisk or fork. There is no need to beat vigorously, just combine the yolks with the whites.

First roll each stuffed mushroom in flour, then in the egg mixture and then in breadcrumbs. Place the mushrooms prepared in this way on a baking sheet covered with baking paper so that they do not touch each other.

Place the baking sheet with the champignons in an oven preheated to 200°C and bake the mushrooms for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 175°C and cook for another 20 minutes. Serve the dish hot or cold, at your discretion.
