Baked broccoli using our recipe might encourage you to have a closer "friendship" with this wonderful product. Of course, many people steam or boil it in water, but primarily to give credit to its health benefits rather than its taste. And that's a real shame because properly cooked broccoli can be incredibly delicious! Our recipe is clear proof of this. So, if you want to make broccoli tasty, boil it in salted boiling water, then bake it in a sauce made of cream and egg. And be sure to sprinkle it with grated cheese, which forms a tempting golden crust on top when baked in the oven.

Prepare the broccoli. Peel the head of cabbage and separate into small inflorescences. In a large saucepan, bring water to a boil (at least 3 liters), add garlic and add a little salt.
Place broccoli florets into boiling water. Bring to a boil again and cook for 4 minutes. Drain in a colander and immediately transfer to a bowl of ice water to keep the broccoli bright green.
Lightly whisk the egg and cream in a large bowl. Add dried Provençal herbs, salt and ground black pepper to taste. Mix with a whisk.
Grate the hard cheese on a medium grater. Grease a baking dish with butter. Place broccoli florets in it, distributing them evenly along the bottom. Pour in the egg-cream mixture. Sprinkle with grated cheese.
Bake broccoli in the oven for 15–20 minutes at 190°C. It should brown and acquire a beautiful golden color. Serve hot or warm.
