Barley in a slow cooker turns out just the way real barley porridge should be—tasty, fluffy, and healthy! Barley, from which this grain is produced, is rich in valuable trace elements and fiber, satisfies hunger excellently, and contains few calories! Generally, the reluctance to cook barley is due to the length of its cooking time, but the slow cooker greatly simplifies the task and minimizes your involvement! Thanks to it, you can quickly serve an excellent side dish with meat or poultry. And it will also be very tasty if you add roasted vegetables or mushrooms to the barley.

Pour the pearl barley into a large sieve and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Place the washed cereal in a bowl, fill it with water and leave for 4-6 hours or overnight.
Finely chop the carrots. Cut the onion into small cubes. Turn on the multicooker to the “fry” mode and heat the vegetable oil in the bowl. Add onions and carrots and fry for 10 minutes.
Place the cereal in a sieve. Rinse and add to vegetables. Place butter and salt in a multicooker bowl. Pour in 600 ml of water. Close the lid and set the “Porridge” or “Grain” mode and cook the barley for 30 minutes.
Set the “Warming” mode and continue cooking the barley for another 30 minutes. During this time, the porridge should be fully cooked - the cereal will swell and become soft.
Gently stir the porridge with a spatula, then place on plates and sprinkle with ground black pepper. Finely chop the dill and parsley, sprinkle them over the porridge and serve.
