Pork steak in honey-mustard sauce is a dish that is perfect for both festive feasts and quick dinners. Thanks to the very successful sauce, the meat turns out juicy, tender, sweet and spicy, and does not require prior marinating. By the way, the amount of ingredients in the sauce can be adjusted to your taste—add, for example, more garlic and less honey, or vice versa. Pork steak can only be fully cooked, so be sure to strictly monitor the cooking time.

Pat the meat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. If the fat layer is too thick, cut it off, leaving no more than 7-10 mm. On the remaining fat layer, make transverse cuts 2-3 mm deep.

If desired, lightly prick the steaks using a tenderizer, fork or skewer. This will allow the steak to better retain its shape and not bend when frying. Lightly salt the meat on all sides and leave for at least 20 minutes.

Get the honey. If yours is thick or candied, heat it in the microwave for 10 seconds. If this is not enough, then add another 10 seconds until the honey becomes liquid.

Add honey, lemon juice and Dijon mustard to a bowl. Lightly salt, add hot and ground black pepper to taste. Mix everything thoroughly. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Pour a little vegetable oil into a frying pan with a thick bottom and heat well. Over medium heat, quickly fry the meat on both sides until golden brown. Brush steaks with honey mustard sauce on all sides.

Transfer the steaks to a parchment-lined baking sheet and place in the oven for 10-15 minutes without convection. Cooking time depends on the thickness of your steaks. After oven, let the meat rest for at least 5 minutes. For pork steaks, honey mustard sauce can be prepared with different mustards, it all depends on your taste. Dijon mustard can be diluted 1 to 1 with spicy or, for example, added a little grainy.
