Ham and cheese puff pastries are prepared, as they say, in a jiffy, as we suggest using ready-made puff pastry in the recipe. It is frozen, so you should let it slowly thaw (all the details can be found in our step-by-step recipe). And this is perhaps the only difficulty you will face. Once the dough is ready, you just need to roll it out slightly, cut it into squares, pack ham and cheese into them, and pop them in the oven. While the puff pastries are baking, put on the kettle, set the table, and get ready for a very pleasant meal.

Frozen puff pastry without yeast should be transferred to the refrigerator in advance (for example, the night before preparing the puff pastry). If you defrost quickly, the layers may break down and the baked goods will be tough.
Place the dough on a floured kitchen counter and roll it out lightly in one direction (not too thin) with a rolling pin. Cut the puff pastry into 6 squares.
Cut the ham and cheese into thin slices. Place the ham among the dough squares, then cover with the cheese. Bring the corners of the dough together in the center above the filling. Pin them together and then the edges. Transfer to a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Lightly beat the yolk with a fork or whisk with a tablespoon of cold water. Using a brush, brush the mixture onto the dough pieces on the baking sheet.
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Bake the puff pastries for 12–15 minutes. Before serving, let cool slightly, place two pieces on a plate and serve warm.
