Chicken drumsticks are perhaps one of the most common products for grilling. Prepare them with a light coating of wheat flour and cornstarch for a crispier crust, and serve the grilled chicken drumsticks with blueberry sauce that includes garlic, ginger, canned roasted peppers, a small amount of ketchup, and honey. Don't be intimidated by the combination of ingredients; the finished sauce has a rich, spicy flavor that pairs perfectly with grilled chicken meat.

Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels. Mix flour with starch, salt and season with pepper. Dredge the chicken in the mixture.
Heat the coals until they turn to gray ash. Grease the grill with vegetable oil and place the chicken drumsticks on it. Cook, turning frequently, 25 minutes.
Finely chop the onion and garlic. Grate the ginger root. Heat the remaining vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat and simmer the onion until translucent, 3 minutes. Add garlic and ginger, cook for another 2 minutes. Place blueberries and ketchup in a frying pan, season with spices and bring to a boil. Cover with a lid and cook over low heat for 10 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat, add the canned peppers and honey, salt and pepper. Cool the mixture for 20 minutes, then blend with an immersion blender until smooth.
Transfer the cooked chicken drumsticks to a platter and serve immediately with the blueberry sauce.
