Cabbage solyanka with or without pork is probably made in every family. And we're not talking about a thick soup with a tangy flavor, but rather a hearty stew. Some believe that solyanka in this form appeared thanks to the mistake of some housewife, who once accidentally forgot to take the cooked first course off the stove. If that's the case, let's sincerely thank this unknown woman, because otherwise, our diet would be missing a wonderful dish. Our cabbage solyanka is quite hearty. But that's not a bad thing, especially when it comes to meals in cold weather, when you want more substantial food!

Prepare the ingredients for cabbage soup. Place the sauerkraut in a colander and squeeze out. If it is too acidic, fill it with cold water and leave for 30 minutes. Then also drain in a colander and squeeze out.
Peel the white cabbage for solyanka from the outer leaves. Then cut into quarters and remove the stalk. Shred the cabbage thinly and place in a bowl. Add a little salt and rub with your hands. Leave for 20 minutes, then squeeze out.
Heat half the vegetable oil in a frying pan. Add fresh cabbage and stir-fry for 5 minutes. Add sauerkraut and stir. Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Place on a plate.
Peel the carrots for hodgepodge and grate on a coarse grater. Peel and chop the onions. Dry the pork and cut into small cubes.
Pour the remaining oil into the pan where the cabbage was fried and heat it. Add the onions and carrots and, stirring, brown for 5 minutes. Add pork. Stirring, fry over medium heat for 7 minutes.
Grind the dried mushrooms for solyanka in a blender bowl. Sprinkle them over the pork, onions and carrots in the pan. Add fried cabbage, pour in a little hot water (3-4 tbsp), salt and pepper.
Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Cover the pan with a lid. Simmer the solyanka over low heat for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally and make sure that the water does not completely evaporate.
Wash prunes for solyanka thoroughly under running water. If the fruits are very large, cut them into halves. Add prunes to the hodgepodge and stir. Simmer on low heat under the lid for about an hour.
