Remember, your mom or grandmother probably made it for you more than once. Just make sure to use quality butter for baking. Not margarine! Margarine contains vegetable oils, which will cause the pie to burn and not hold its shape. You can use any jam. The recipe uses apple jam, but it's also very tasty with cherry jam because it has a pleasant tartness. You can serve the pie sprinkled with powdered sugar.

Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients for the jam pie in the oven. Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Grate the cold butter on a coarse grater and add to the flour. Grind everything together.

Add egg, sour cream, sugar, salt to the dough and knead into a homogeneous dough. This can be done by hand or using a food processor. Roll into a ball and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Bake the pie for about 15 minutes. Then increase the temperature to 200°C and cook for another 10 minutes. Remove from oven.
