Plum jam with walnuts will appeal to people who, in principle, love bold culinary experiments. And also to those who are somewhat tired of the classic recipes for similar preserves! Thanks to the addition of walnuts, the plum jam has an original taste that will pleasantly surprise your family and house guests. Children, on the other hand, will be thrilled by the "surprise" when they find a walnut half inside the fruit. In short, everyone will be pleased. Note that plum jam with walnuts is cooked over several days in three to four sessions, which is quite convenient: you won't have to stand by the stove for hours.

Prepare the plums. Wash the fruits and dry with paper towels. Remove the branches. Then remove the pits from the plums without cutting them in half (try pushing out the pit, for example, with the unsharpened side of a pencil, without cutting the plum).
Place the prepared plums in a bowl and weigh, not forgetting to take into account the container (many modern scales have a special function). To make jam we need 1 kg of peeled fruits.
Prepare syrup for jam. To do this, pour sugar into a spacious saucepan or basin and fill it with cold drinking water. Place over medium heat and, stirring, bring to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes.
Dip the prepared plums into the boiling syrup and cook over low heat for 5 minutes after the syrup returns to a boil. Remove from heat and leave at room temperature for 5-6 hours.
Place the plums in syrup back on the heat and cook for 5 minutes. Let cool. Leave for 5 hours. Repeat this 3 more times. During this time, the fruits will be saturated with syrup, but will retain their shape.
Place the boiled plums in a colander and let the syrup drain into the pan. Stuff each plum with half a walnut kernel. Place the fruits prepared in this way into sterilized jars.
Bring the syrup to a boil again. Carefully pour it over the plums in the jars. Let cool and cover with plastic lids. It is better to store this jam in the refrigerator.
