You can prepare braised cabbage with chicken in a pan any day of the week for dinner: this dish is simple, budget-friendly, doesn't require special culinary skills, and is quite "quick." And this is one of those cases where no one will object, as it turns out to be so delicious. Please note: we suggest using tomato paste when braising cabbage with chicken (it gives a beautiful rich color), but you can use finely chopped fresh tomatoes or pureed canned tomatoes as well. Try both options and choose the one you like the most!

Prepare all the ingredients for the dish. Wash and dry the chicken (fillet). Cut into small slices and place in a bowl. Salt, pepper and sprinkle with ground paprika. Leave for 10 minutes.
Peel and chop the onion. Peel and wash the carrots. Grate on a coarse grater. Heat the oil in a large, high-sided frying pan. Place chicken in it. Fry until golden brown on all sides. Place on a plate.
In the same frying pan, stirring occasionally, fry the onion and carrots (5 minutes over medium heat). Return chicken to skillet. Stir and heat everything together for five minutes.
Chop the cabbage thinly. Add to the pan with the vegetables. Pour in hot water and bring to a boil. Add tomato paste and stir. Simmer over low heat, covered, for 10 minutes.
Peel the garlic and pass through a press. Add to the pan with the chicken and cabbage. Add salt, pepper and simmer over low heat, covered, for 30 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Wash the parsley and remove the leaves from the branches. Finely chop and add to the pan with the chicken and cabbage. Simmer for another 5 minutes. Serve the finished dish hot.
