Prepare a classic potato casserole with minced meat in the oven the way our mothers and grandmothers once did, so that at least for a short time, even at the level of taste, you can return to distant childhood. Moreover, all the ingredients of the dish are simple and quite affordable! And no difficulties are foreseen in bringing the recipe to life: we boil the potatoes, prepare mashed potatoes from them, separately fry the minced meat with vegetables and then lay out the components of the casserole in layers in a mold. After which all that remains is to put the dish in the oven (for only 15 minutes!) and wait for the tasting to begin - nostalgic, but certainly pleasant.

Prepare all the ingredients for the casserole. Peel the potatoes, wash and boil in lightly salted water until fully cooked (20–25 minutes). During this time, prepare the minced meat.
Pass the beef and pork pulp through a meat grinder with a fine grid into a bowl. Peel the carrots, wash them, grate them on a coarse grater. Peel the onion and chop finely.
Heat vegetable oil in a large frying pan. Add onions and carrots. Stirring, fry over low heat for 10 minutes. Add the resulting minced meat, salt and pepper. Fry the minced meat with onions and carrots over low heat, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
When the potatoes are ready, drain the water from the pan. Return the pan with potatoes to low heat (or just on a hot burner) and dry the tubers a little. Mash the potatoes and mix with hot cream and 30 g of butter. Add salt to taste.
Grease a baking dish with the remaining butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Add half of the mashed potatoes and smooth out. Spread the minced meat on top.
Add mashed potatoes again. Flatten and sprinkle with grated cheese. Preheat the oven to 210°C. Cook the casserole for 15 minutes, the cheese should melt and turn golden brown. Let the casserole cool slightly before serving.
