Homemade glazed nuts make a beautiful homemade gift for friends and family. They can be packaged in gift bags or beautiful jars tied with ribbon. Such a delicious gift can be stored for a long time (unless, of course, the gift recipient has enough willpower not to eat these crispy sweets all at once). A fragrant caramel glaze with the addition of cinnamon, ginger, cumin and freshly ground pepper gives the nuts an unexpected taste that you want to taste again and again.

Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
In a bowl, combine salt, sugar, pepper, cumin, cinnamon and ginger and stir with a whisk.
In another bowl, combine the whites with 1 tbsp. l. water and beat with a mixer into a light foam. Add nuts and stir with a spatula. If there is some beaten egg white left at the bottom of the bowl, add more nuts and stir again. Add the spice mixture and mix the nuts thoroughly again.
Spread the nut mixture on a baking sheet in a single layer and place on the middle rack of the oven. Bake for 10 minutes, then stir and continue cooking for another 10-15 minutes. The nuts should become crispy. Leave the nuts to cool on the baking sheet, then transfer to an airtight container.
