Wonderful simple candied mangoes are not at all difficult to prepare. Children will love them, they will be a hit with sweet snacks, and complement desserts and baked goods. Mango slices, boiled in syrup and then carefully dried in the oven at low temperature, can be carried with you in the car or carried in your purse. They store well and will be your secret way to quickly replenish energy. In the same way, you can prepare candied fruits from other fruits and berries, just adjust the drying time depending on the juiciness of the selected fruit. Other fruits may require more time.

Cut the mango, remove the pit, remove the peel. Cut the pulp into slices.
Prepare the syrup. Pour 250 ml of water into a saucepan, add sugar and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium, add mango pieces and cook for 5 minutes. Strain through a sieve and let the syrup drain completely.
Preheat oven to 40°C. Line a rack with baking paper and arrange the mangoes in a single layer. Dry the candied fruits for 6–8 hours, extend the cooking time if necessary. The candied fruits should become dry, but remain elastic. Leave in the oven with the door open until the candied fruits have cooled completely.
