About This Recipe

Why do we recommend juicing frozen oranges? First of all, because it has a more saturated color than that which is pressed from ordinary fruits. And during the freezing process, the peel largely loses its bitterness! In our recipe, we additionally pour boiling water over the oranges, so the taste of the juice will be almost perfect. There is another reason why the drink is better prepared from frozen fruits. Remember how much liquid is lost when we cut fresh oranges to then squeeze the juice out of them. If you cut frozen fruits, losses are practically eliminated.

Preparation Steps

1

Step 1

Prepare the oranges. Wash the fruit thoroughly with a brush and dishwashing detergent to remove the layer of wax that manufacturers coat citrus fruits with to preserve them.

2

Step 2

Place the oranges in a colander or sieve and pour boiling water from a kettle over them several times. This must be done so that the crust tastes less bitter in the juice.

3

Step 3

Place the oranges in the freezer for 4 hours (overnight is possible). Then remove the fruits and cut into slices. Pass through a meat grinder into a saucepan or bowl.

4

Step 4

Pour in 1 liter of water and stir. Leave the orange drink for 30 minutes at room temperature, then strain through two layers of cheesecloth into a clean ladle.

5

Step 5

Add sugar and stir until it is completely dissolved. Pour in the remaining water. Taste the juice and add a little more sugar if necessary. Pour into glasses and serve.

Enjoy your meal!
