Lemon tincture is prepared incredibly simply and fantastically quickly, and its exquisite taste can pleasantly surprise connoisseurs of such drinks. We in no way encourage you to abuse alcohol: here we are talking about pleasant gastronomic experiences. Moreover, although lemon tincture is a true classic of the genre, not everyone knows how to prepare it well. Sometimes they put too much sugar in such a drink, sometimes the proportions of alcohol and citrus juice are not maintained. It seems to us that we have found the ideal formula, and the lemon tincture according to this recipe has a very harmonious taste.

Wash the lemon with a brush or the hard side of a sponge with dish soap to remove the wax that manufacturers use to coat citrus fruits for better preservation.
Using a vegetable peeler, very carefully remove the zest from the lemon, being careful not to touch the white layer: it can give the finished drink a bitter taste.
Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice into a jar with a capacity of about 700 ml. Add sugar, vodka, zest and stir. Close the jar with a plastic lid and put it in a dark place for 5 days.
Strain the resulting lemon tincture into another jar through 2–4 layers of gauze. Then pour into a bottle and seal. The tincture should be thoroughly cooled before use.
