Pine cone jam, or "pine jam" as it is sometimes called, has a pink-brown color and a honey-resinous flavor. Despite the unusual nature of this preparation, pine cone jam is tasty enough to be eaten not only for health reasons

Before cooking, young pine cones are sorted out, debris and pine needles are removed, washed in clean water, poured into an enamel pan and filled with drinking cold water so that it covers the cones by 1-1.5 cm.
Then the cones are boiled with sugar added. Boil like regular jam for at least 90 minutes, removing any foam that has formed.
The finished jam is poured into hot jars. It should turn out to be a beautiful reddish hue, and the smell of pine needles will give it a piquant, subtle aroma.
