Chicken drumstick in honey sauce is a dish with an interesting and piquant taste. Chicken meat is quite neutral and goes well with ingredients that have a distinct taste and aroma. In our recipe, the chicken is kept in an original Asian-style marinade. Its main ingredients are soy sauce, paprika and honey. It is the marinade that provides the beautiful color and rich taste of the finished dish. Baked chicken drumsticks turn out unusually juicy due to the correctly selected temperature conditions. First, they are baked for 30 minutes at 180 °C - during this time the chicken is almost ready. Then the heat is increased to 210°C and the chicken drumsticks are quickly covered with an appetizing crust. Serve baked chicken drumsticks with potatoes or fluffy rice and don't forget to complement the dish with vegetable salad.

Pass the garlic through a press. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce with 1 tbsp. l. honey, garlic and lemon juice. Add 2 tbsp. l. olive oil, season with sweet paprika and ground black pepper.
Mix the marinade with a whisk until completely homogeneous. Dry the chicken thoroughly with paper towels and place in a large bowl. Pour the marinade over and rub it thoroughly into each chicken drumstick.
Cover the bowl with cling film and leave at room temperature for 30-40 minutes. The maximum time for marinating chicken is 6 hours. In this case, the bowl should be placed in the refrigerator.
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Place the rack on the middle level. Grease a 22x25 cm ovenproof dish with the remaining olive oil. You can bake the chicken in a metal, glass or ceramic dish.
Place the chicken drumsticks in a single layer in the pan. Season with salt and pour over the remaining marinade in the bowl. You only need to add a little salt to the chicken, as the marinade contains soy sauce.
Cover the pan with foil. Place the pan with the chicken on a rack in the center of the oven and bake for 30 minutes. Check for doneness by piercing the drumstick with the tip of a knife.
If the liquid flowing out at the puncture site is clear, then the chicken is ready. Otherwise, continue cooking the drumsticks for another 10 minutes. Pierce the drumstick at the thickest point.
Remove pan from oven and remove foil. Brush the chicken drumsticks with the remaining honey. Increase oven heat to 210°C. Return the chicken to the oven and cook for another 10 minutes or until the drumsticks are golden brown. Place chicken drumsticks on a platter and add garnish. Serve the dish hot.
