Homemade crumbly brushwood with milk is a favorite treat for children and adults. In order to knead the correct dough, you will need wheat flour, milk, melted butter and eggs. Baking powder and rum will make the dough especially crispy and light, and to decorate the finished dessert, sprinkle the brushwood with powdered sugar - use a fine-hole strainer to do this. Try not to pour too much flour onto the work surface - if it gets into the frying pan with oil, the flour will start to burn and your kitchen will fill with fumes. It is most convenient to roll out the dough on a sheet of baking paper, to which it will not stick - then certainly nothing unnecessary will get into the oil.

Place the butter in a small saucepan and melt over low heat. Remove from heat and cool. In a small bowl, whisk the eggs until the yolk and white are combined.
Sift 400g flour with baking powder into a large bowl. Add the eggs to the bowl with the flour. Salt and add sugar. Pour in milk, melted butter and rum.
Knead soft and elastic dough. Form the dough into a ball and wrap in cling film. Return to bowl and leave on work surface for 30-40 minutes.
Dust your work surface with the remaining flour. Or cover with baking paper. Place the dough and roll out into a layer 5 mm thick. Cut the dough into small diamonds or triangles. Make a cut in the center of each and pull one corner of the dough through it.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan. Add brushwood in small batches and fry until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes on each side. Continue frying until all the dough is gone. Before serving, decorate the brushwood with powdered sugar.
