To create homemade currant wine, you don’t need any special skills or equipment. Choose ripe berries that have had time to warm up properly in the sun and become quite sweet. Do not wash them under any circumstances, as the peel contains the yeast we need. They will be responsible for the fermentation of the product. For wine we will use black currants. Its slightly tart-tasting berries in this recipe are not heat-treated, which means they will retain their beneficial substances and bright aroma. The finished product is a beautiful rich red color.

Carefully sort out the blackcurrants from debris: remove the leaves and twigs that got in when picking the berries. Don't wash. Then transfer them to a blender bowl and grind.
Wash three-liter jars thoroughly and dry. Divide the currant puree into jars. For this amount of ingredients you will need 2 three-liter jars.
Heat the water on the stove. It should be warm, but not hot, about 36-37 °C. Add 1 kg of sugar and stir. It should completely dissolve.
Fill jars of currant puree with warm syrup. It should reach 2/3 of the height. Stir. Put gloves on the neck of the jars, make several punctures in the middle finger and put them in a dark, warm place for 4 days. The glove should inflate.
After 4 days, strain the wine through a fine sieve or cheesecloth. The pulp will no longer be needed. Pour the berry drink into two three-liter clean jars.
Divide the remaining sugar (1 kg) into 4 parts. Every week add one part of sugar, mix, put on a glove and place in a warm and dark place.
When you add the last part of the sugar, return the glove to the neck and do not touch the jars for a week. The glove should fall off. Strain the wine again. Distribute into bottles and store in a dark and cool place for 3 months to mature. About once a month, strain the wine to remove any sediment that will still appear.
