Sour cream cake in the oven is a great basic recipe for every day. The fermented milk product will make the baked goods soft and airy. And thanks to orange juice and zest, it acquires a special zest: a unique citrus aroma and juicy fresh taste. If you don’t have oranges on hand, add grated apple and diced banana. Any berries and fruits, as well as dried fruits and nuts, are also suitable. With icing the dessert looks very impressive. Prepare all ingredients according to the list. Remove eggs, butter, and condensed milk from the refrigerator in advance. The butter should become soft and pliable.
Combine eggs with sugar in a deep container. Beat with a mixer or blender into a fluffy foam. The mass should lighten and increase in volume at least 2 times.
Continuing to beat, add softened butter and condensed milk. Then, still whisking, add sour cream. You should get a homogeneous mass.
Wash the orange thoroughly and dry. Grate the zest on a fine grater. Squeeze the juice from half the fruit. Add the zest and juice to the dough and mix thoroughly.
Sift the flour through a sieve with baking powder and add in portions, mixing thoroughly after each. You should get a smooth, homogeneous, fairly liquid dough.
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a baking dish with butter and sprinkle with flour. Shake off any excess. Pour the dough into the mold. Flatten with a spatula. Bake the cake for 45 minutes. Check readiness with a wooden skewer.
For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with orange juice. If it turns out too sweet, add a little lemon juice. Scoop the cupcake out and then cover it with frosting.
