Soak the dates in hot water for 10 minutes to soften them. Then drain the water and carefully remove the pits. In a blender, combine the cashew nuts, prepared dates, and cocoa. Turn these ingredients into a homogeneous mass to create the base for your brownies.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave or in a double boiler until smooth and glossy. Pour the melted chocolate in an even layer onto a sheet of parchment paper and let it harden completely. Once the chocolate has hardened, cut it into thin and delicate shavings at a 45-degree angle to decorate pastries.
Carefully remove the hardened cake layer from the mold and transfer it to a cutting board. Cut the cake layer into small and neat rectangles.
