Start by preparing the morels: these mushrooms require special attention due to their furrowed caps, where particles of soil often get stuck. After thorough cleaning, cover the morels with cold water and let them soak for about an hour. Then, transfer them to a colander and rinse again to get rid of all impurities. After that, boil the morels for 20 minutes, as they are considered conditionally edible and this procedure is mandatory.
Let's move on to the second stage: drain the boiled morels in a colander to remove excess liquid. Then cut them into small, neat slices. After that, chop the onion, which will give the dish extra depth of flavor. Now everything is ready for frying the mushrooms.
It's time to fry the morels: heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. First, add the chopped onion and fry it until it is golden and slightly browned. Then add the prepared slices of morels. Stirring occasionally, fry the mushrooms for about 15 minutes, until they develop an appetizing crust.
The finishing touch: sprinkle the fried morels with freshly squeezed lemon juice to add a bright acidity and enhance their flavor. Add salt and pepper to taste to balance the aroma. Continue to keep the pan on medium heat for about five more minutes so that all the flavors blend harmoniously. Your fried morels are ready to serve!
