Rinse the buckwheat thoroughly under running water. Carefully wash the chicken eggs. Rinse and peel the onion.
Pour the buckwheat into a pot. Add water and place over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then salt. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 20 minutes.
Boil the eggs for 10 minutes until hard-boiled. Cool them in cold water and peel.
Finely chop the onion. Melt half of the butter in a frying pan. Sauté the onion for 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring regularly.
Dice the eggs into small pieces and add them to the pot with the buckwheat. Stir in the fried onions and the remaining butter. Mix thoroughly.
Distribute the buckwheat among the plates and sprinkle with chopped dill. Garnish with cherry tomatoes.
