Imagine enjoying juicy, flavorful shashlik right at home, without a grill or electric shashlik maker! This recipe proves that oven-baked meat can be incredibly delicious. All you need to do is properly marinate the pork and send it to the oven. You can skewer the pieces so that the fat drips into a baking dish, or simply place the meat on a baking sheet. The result will exceed all expectations!

Thoroughly wash and pat dry the meat. Peel the onion. If you decide to add garlic to the marinade, peel that as well. Prepare skewers, a baking dish, and a baking sheet.
Cut the pork into small, uniform pieces. Finely chop the onion and add it to the meat along with the spices and fragrant basil. Mix all ingredients thoroughly, then cover the container with film and refrigerate for 2-3 hours to marinate.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Season the meat with salt and mix well again. You can place the pork directly on a baking sheet, but for better results, it's recommended to thread the pieces onto skewers and arrange them so that the meat hangs suspended over a baking dish – this will allow excess fat to drain. Bake the shashlik in the oven for 30 minutes.
Transfer the cooked meat to a tall, deep dish – this will help it stay hot longer and maintain its appetizing appearance.
