Thoroughly wash the lemon, mint, and red currants. Carefully remove the berries from their stems. Prepare the blender for the next steps.
Transfer the prepared currants into the blender cup.
Add sugar to the berries. Squeeze the lemon juice into a separate bowl first to avoid seeds, then pour it into the blender with the currants.
Blend the entire contents of the blender cup until a smooth puree is formed. Strain the resulting mixture through a sieve into a serving container, using a tablespoon to assist.
Add fresh mint leaves to the strained berry mixture. Pour in the sparkling water and mix all ingredients thoroughly.
Serve this wonderful drink, garnishing the glass with a thin slice of lemon and adding a few ice cubes for perfect coolness.
