An hour before preparing the cake, allow the butter to soften at room temperature so that it becomes ideal for creating a delicate texture.
Thoroughly rinse the raisins under running water, removing anything extra, then dry them with paper towels or let them dry naturally.
Preheat the oven to 160ºC. Prepare a cake tin by greasing it with butter and dusting it with flour so that the finished cake can be easily removed.
Beat the softened butter with sugar and vanilla sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add the eggs, beating well after each addition.
Gently fold the raisins into the batter with a spatula. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the flour mixture to the batter, mixing on low speed with a mixer or with a spatula.
Place the dough in the prepared form, flatten it. To create an authentic look, make a shallow groove down the center with a spatula dipped in water.
Bake the cake in a preheated oven for about an hour and a half until done, checking with a dry skewer. Baking time may vary depending on your oven.
Let the finished cake cool slightly in the pan, then gently remove it and sprinkle with powdered sugar through a sieve. Cut into portions and serve, enjoying the taste.
