Chicken drumsticks with cabbage, baked in the oven in a sleeve, are incredibly juicy, tender and fragrant. In the process of cooking, the vegetables are saturated with the juice from the chicken and turn out especially tasty. You only need to marinate the chicken legs (this can be done in advance), prepare the vegetables, put all the ingredients in a sleeve and send them to the oven. Wash the chicken drumsticks and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Transfer the drumsticks to a deep dish.
Salt the meat to taste, season with a mixture of spices for chicken. Add garlic cloves passed through a press and French mustard with grains to the legs.
Thoroughly mix the ingredients so that the chicken drumsticks are completely covered with the mixture of spices, garlic and mustard. Leave the meat at room temperature for 30 minutes to marinate. Chicken drumsticks can be marinated in advance and stored covered in the refrigerator.
While the meat is marinating, prepare the vegetables. Peel the onion and dice it finely.
Wash the carrots, peel them, and grate them on a large grater.
Remove the top soiled or damaged leaves from the white cabbage, if any. Shred the cabbage into thin strips, cutting out the tough core.
Combine cabbage, carrots, and onions in a deep bowl. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Gently knead the vegetables with your hands so that they release juice. Add a few tablespoons of refined oil, mix the ingredients thoroughly.
Tie off one end of the baking sleeve. Transfer the cabbage with carrots and onions into it. Add a few bay leaves for flavor.
Place the marinated chicken drumsticks on top of the vegetables. Tie the other end of the baking sleeve. For convenience, transfer it to a heat-resistant form.
Place the chicken drumsticks with cabbage in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 40 minutes. Then remove the form from the oven. Carefully, so as not to get burned by steam, cut the baking sleeve and return the form to the oven for another 10 minutes to get a crispy golden crust on the chicken.
Serve the prepared dish hot, garnishing each portion with dill greens.
