Discover the amazing taste of a casserole that resembles your favorite stuffed cabbage rolls, but without the hassle of rolling! Simply mix all the ingredients and bake. Prepare all ingredients: thaw the minced meat, thoroughly wash the cabbage and remove the outer leaves. Peel and rinse the onion and garlic.
Start with the bread: break it into small pieces and soak it in milk until it's thoroughly saturated.
Finely chop the onion, press the garlic for maximum flavor, and cut the bacon into small pieces.
Sauté the prepared onion, bacon, and garlic in a pan for 5 minutes, stirring continuously to ensure even browning and flavor development.
Finely shred the cabbage. Boil water in a saucepan, add a pinch of salt, and blanch the cabbage in the boiling water for just 3 minutes. Then drain it in a colander to remove all excess water.
In a large bowl, combine both types of ground meat, the fried bacon with onions, chicken egg, blanched cabbage, and soaked bread. Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
Add 1 cup of breadcrumbs to the minced meat, pour in vegetable oil, season with black ground pepper and salt. Mix thoroughly once more to ensure all spices are evenly distributed.
Sprinkle half of the remaining breadcrumbs into the baking dish. Carefully transfer all of the stuffing into the dish, spreading it evenly.
Sprinkle the remaining breadcrumbs over the casserole and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 1 hour, until a golden crust forms.
Cut the finished casserole into serving pieces and arrange on plates. Garnish with fresh herbs and cherry tomatoes, and offer any favorite sauce.
